Simplify your Alchemical recipe by following the A, B, Cs of Well-being Stewardship

  • Confused after reading lists and articles about "do this, or don't do that?"

  • Challenged trying to juggle conflicting information from your current resources?

  • Unsure why you're doing or taking something?

Everything you do (or don't do) to create Vibrant Living can (and should) fit into 3 simple categories:

A.  Alleviate & Eliminate root causes

B.  Boost & Bolster

C. Clear,  Cleanse & Rejuvenate

Your Alchemical recipe is that simple!

Orientation:  Tips to get the greatest benefit from the content on this page

Think about cultivating well-being as an ongoing continual process improvement loop

Red Reductionist Zone thinking lures you into thinking about one cause and (primarily) one effect.  Even the "side effects" makes it seem like those aren't effects - with an S.

But that's not how it works.

Your physical-emotional-mental-spiritual being in a very interconnected system.  Nudge something here, and other things are nudged in either a positive or negative direction.  Deplete something there, and other things may be depleted, or even enhanced.

The A,B,Cs give you, along with your well-being partners, a simple, integrated method to recognize all those interrelationships.

Make a list of things you've done, or eliminated, in your efforts to cultivate Vibrant Living, and determine if they are A, B or C.  If you don't know, find out!

What's not so simple  . . . .

A.   Knowing and understanding true root causes of what is hampering vibrant living

fly-agaric-468767_1920.jpg

For example, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) have recognized that moving air, especially on your head (think fans and air conditioning) increase what Ayurveda calls the Vata dosha and TCM calls wind disturbance.  The hallmark of both those imbalances - anxiety.

Yep, all that moving air on your head increases anxiety.  In these Green Stewardship Zone medical sciences, anxiety isn't the diagnosis, it's the symptom of a fundamental root cause.  Pay attention to how your nervous system feels when exposed to moving air.

Because the Green Stewardship Zone medical science studied a multitude of root causes at a deep, you will be amazed at how everyday actions, food choices or environmental influences influence Vibrant Living.

B.  Boosting and bolstering what you - as a whole systems being - actually need

You are a system.  Boosting & Bolstering is not a linear process.  Add too much of a perfectly "good" herb, and it can throw something else out of whack.  Try to push some aspect of your system too far, before another aspect is aligned to work in harmony, and a different problem is created.

For example, you are probably aware sleep is very important for so many things.  Yet too much sleep (beyond about 9 hours) isn't helpful, and can indicate an imbalance.  Sleeping at the wrong time doesn't give you the benefits of sleep.

The right time to sleep is following the circadian rhythm of early to bed (before 10 p.m.) and early to rise (around 5 a.m.).  This sets the stage for sleep to be nourishing.  Both TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Ayurveda have 24 hour clocks which map out the internal actions happening throughout the day.

If you're not Boosting & Bolstering your being with nourishing sleep, taking various  herbs or adding  movement practices won't have the same beneficial impact because your entire mind/body system lacks the foundation of proper assimilation gained during proper sleep.

Stewardship Tip

Approach your Alchemical recipe in order:  A - B - C.

Work with a Green Stewardship Zone medical professional to align your A, B, Cs.

Always be able to identify whether what you do (or don't do) is for the purpose of A, B or C.

That's empowerment.

C.  Clearing, cleansing and rejuvenating isn't something "try" after reading an article touted as a fix for what you need

This is not a time for "one size fit's all" approach you read about someplace.  You are unique.  Your accumulated toxins, traumas (that get stuck in your cells) and other stagnation is unique to you.  You need to know what you're clearing - what is creating your stagnation -  and you need to know the time is right for clearing.

Right timing involves two things:

1.  Clear elimination paths.  You wouldn't start clearing out your refrigerator or closets without a plan to remove the garbage.  Same with the Clear, Cleanse & Rejuvenate process.  You'll create bigger problems for yourself is your systems of elimination (liver, bowels, skin, kidneys, lungs) are not clear and are not sufficiently bolstered enough to handle your upcoming garbage dump.

If you are constipated, don't sweat or have ingesting things that hamper liver function like alcohol acetaminophen), don't jump on a cleanse bandwagon.  Know yourself and your unique needs.

2.  Cultivate sufficient stamina.  Your system must be prepared for clearing (including emotional aspects).  That means preparing with appropriate B. Boost & Bolster steps.  Even carefully planned and monitored Clear & Cleanse processes can be hard on your system.  You may feel worse for a while. You minimize this impact by following your A,B,Cs and working with a well-being partner.

P.S. Your Rejuvenation needs are unique too.  The "next best superfood" may or may not be what you need.  And it may or may not be appropriate now.

How the A, B, Cs help you cultivate Vibrant Living

  1. You are empowered to understand how what you do, don't do and how recommendations fit together - or don't fit together. You cultivate the foundation for your alchemical recipe.

  2. You are equipped for deeper discussions with your well-being partners. All the Green Stewardship Zone medical sciences have their version of these three steps.

  3. You gain a greater awareness of the interconnection between all your daily choices to choose Vibrant Living.
